Can Lt Col Guivarra, who donated this artifact to ? , confirm its stated provenance...and who collected it and when.?

Having visited the Yamamoto wreck site and seen the severely crushed and burned front 2/3rds of the aircraft.. it would have taken a major dig / disturbance of the wreckage to find the cockpit area.. and would the local folk allow that?

This column appears unburned and unbent, with minimal corrosion.

I'd love to know the full story leading to its recovery.

Its displayed at the MacArthur Musuem in Brisbane. My understanding is that it was recovered just after 1945 hence its condition, not a recent recovery.
