Hey Gents:

Just took a trip to Papua, Indonesia. Went to Sorong, Manokwari, Waigeo, and other areas. Found a few Japanese planes. Went to Makassar, Manado, and other areas. It was an adventure. Be prepared for some serious culture shock.

HA! Definately. I loved my two trips to PNG though.

Tell us about it Daniel. In Sorong, my guide was a Melanesian named Benny who scared me at first. After a while, I realized he was a very kind hearted fellow.

Got a lot of stares in Sorong, like they've never seen a white man before. Met a few Chinese in a small village in the jungle. Very nice, friendlier than anyone back home!

Saw some wrecked Zeros with schrapnel damage. Some of the repairs they made on those planes looked pretty unsafe!

I went scuba diving at Raja Ampat, West Papua.

My Indonesian Dive Guide says that there are WW2 airplanes under the water at Dalmier Island including a Razorback fighterplane with the gun camera intact.

Not too bad diving around there.

We stayed on a Liveonboard - Sea Safari 8. It roughly cost me about US$200 a day including dive guides, food, accommodation etc.. I got a room to myself with ensuite.
