A full colour 512 page book titled "Field Guide to the Kokoda Track" will be in Australian bookstores from 23Oct06. The book is aimed at the trekker and includes a waterproof map of the current and wartime track. The Northern Beach campaign is also covered

I picked up a copy of this book in late 2006 and it is definately worth it! It covers everything between Port Moresby and Sanananda, so not just the 'touristy' stuff - I wish I had a copy with me while walking the beachheads in '05/'06.
