Does any one have suggestions on books I should read on Aviation and war history in Burma. Planning a return visit to Burma in October and would like to visit some more sights in the north.

The "Bloody Shambles" series of books covers the air war in the 'Far East' extremely well. I believe the third volume concentrates on the RAF in places (including what is now Myanmar) between 1943 and 1945.

I can totally recommend Hurricanes over Burma by MC "Bush" Cotton. An Aussie in the RAF flying Hurris and Spits.

Cheers

"Silently into the Midst of Things" by Atholl Sutherland Brown is about 177 Sqn flying Beaus over Burma. Good read it is too!
