Dummy IJN airplane!

Post by PF »

David Aiken in an email-sent to me-FOR REFERENCE ONLY

When VT-4 for USS Essex raided over an airfield at Tokunoshima, they made strafing runs over Japanese planes on the ground. There was only one real plane (Oscar ) that was under repair on the field. Japanese AAA at the airfield reported that those decoys had been very effective but the Oscar was also destroyed.
