I am working in New Caledonia , just down the road from the remnants of this airfield, visited a few times in the last few weeks.
So far I have found the Hudson wing centre section and wings and the aircraft dump with the 2 double row radial engines and sections of wings
and nose gear from a B25, as well as the frame of the small recon aircraft as seen in Nicolas Dupreys photos from the year 2000.
I have not been able to find the B25 fuselage shown in his pictures, is there any record of it being salvaged from here, or is it well hidden.Any info would be appreciated, plus i have lots more pics if anyone is interested.

Sir (Sorry, i do not have your name)

Thank you for the photos from Plaines Des Gaiacs and interesting to hear about your work on New Caledonia.
May we add your photos to Pacific Wrecks, credited to you? Also, any other WWII related photos or locations you have visited. If so, email us info@pacificwrecks.org

Your right, Nicolas Duprey & Flo Thibeaux visited these same sites in 2000. It is good to see they are still there and in good condition. Here are their photos and reporting.
