My Grandads dog tags recently turned up, he was stationed on Munda and went MIA on March 9th, 1944, PB4Y-1 "The Schooner" I am wondering what ship shot him down and if it was mutual destruction. They had radioed that they had spotted an enemy ship and were to engage them, a partial radio call later said they were going down. Does anyone know of any org that could help me determine the name of the enemy ship? I seek the name as closure not anger. I want to know more.
