Hello,

This is my first post. I am located in Texas. My primary interest is the Army's involvement in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Particularly the 147th infantry regiment. My grandfather served in he 147th as an infantry machine gunner assigned to L company. My goal is to obtain as much information as I can about the 147th and possibly my grandfather. He died long ago when I was a small boy. I remember him telling me about Guadalcanal and training in Louisiana. Any further information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

I'm looking for information on Grandfather also. I know he was in L company 147th infantry, but that is about it. Just wondering if you have had any luck finding anything.
Also I have a company picture I could E-mail to you if you would like. The picture I have has L company 147th Infantry Camp Shelby Miss April 1941. Wasn't sure if this would contain your grandfather.

Thanks,

Greg
