Hi I have been an aviation enthusiast for almost 60 years. I was born and worked in Scotland, teaching history, until I retired and we moved to Spain for a wee bit of sunshine. My main line of aviation research is the Douglas C-47 / Dakota and the units who flew them and I have been researching the individual histories of each airframe and I have amassed over 13,000 photos during that period. My other area of research is the history of Prestwick Airport and Scottish Aviation Limited. At the moment I am researching along with six other authors a book on 100 years of aviation in the central belt of Scotland.
