I have come across some old photos of a ship with the number P173 on it and was curious if any one knew any information about it, I also have an older picture of "Shaggy Ridge", and I have no other info on it either. I am not sure if this is a forum for seeking information such as this, but I wanted to give it a shot. My pictures were from my Grandfather who served in WW2, he passed away a long time ago, and the pictures just surfaced and I was curious, Thanks

The ship could possibly be the La Salle class transport

USS Herald of the Morning (AP-173)

There is a history write up, along with photos at the following website.

Good luck and I hope that this helps.
