Re: Disastrous Date in 11th Bomb Group History

Can you provide the AAF Aircraft serial numbers for the two B-24s? And the complete crew lists for the two aircraft?

Thanks.

Re: B17 Hoomalimali

I have a crew list from one of Steve Birdsall's books, do you need the names?

Re: B17 Hoomalimali

There is no accident report for this aircraft on the microfilm for that date.

I got my info from one of S.Birdsall's books.

As far as I can tell, there is no Form No. 14 AAF Aircraft Accident Report for this accident.

Re: Cox Bazar Crash - Mar 18, 1945

My accident report data base suggests that this airplane crashed on March 17, 1945.

The MACR and the accident report are two different things. There is an accident report for this airplane.

Re: C-47 crash at Wards A/D 14 June 1943

I was traveling when I posted this thread. When I got home I was able to do a little more work on this. I discovered in my own data base of AAF accidents that these two crewmembers were killed in the crash of the B-17C (40-2072) at Bakers Creek and not at Wards A/D. The two crewmembers mentioned abo...

C-47 crash at Wards A/D 14 June 1943

Looking for information concerning the crash of a C-47 (?) aircraft attempting to take off from Wards Airdrome, NG, on 14 June 1943 as described in Ernest C. Ford's book MY NEW GUINEA DIARY . The accident does not show up in the accident record on the microfilm. The airplane was the "lead ship" of a...

Re: B-24 Crash 3 March 1942

Dr. Jung, Thanks for posting this information Silvano. The title that you mention is a one that I will surely purchase in the future. Al Blue has been active on another forum that I am on; maybe I can ask him to come over here and chime in. He has been a tremendous help to all of us. It would be nic...

Re: Zamperini B-24 loss

Yep, that is right, Zamp was with the Phillips crew. And please don't get me wrong, I appreciate the help, but there is a contradiction and there is no AC serial number on that MACR. And the guy who sent me the same serial number as you did is a pretty smart guy (and has never steared me wrong yet),...
