Actually, any air force veterans in Western Australia (where I live) or Victoria (visit regularly) would be most welcome.

Hi Mike She had a 3 blade prop/s too so that counts out the C-46 and supports your C-53 thoughts. The actual parts themselves have a number code unique to the type of aircraft. For example (example only, can't remember any numbers off the top of my head), the C-53 might have had the code "61" as the...

Interviewing veterans

Hi guys I know this might be a long shot posting this here but I am trying everything as you never know. I am hunting air and ground crew veterans from WWII who live in Western Australia. Like I said, a long shot as I know most of you are in the northern hemisphere. However, if you have ever corresp...

P-61 - beautiful!

Guys

Been following this restoration since the 90s but have not visited the site for a while. Check out the link especially towards the bottom. Big and beautiful!

Hi This is probably the best place to start: AVIATION HERITAGE CENTER A feature of the museum is the WWII Spitfire and the huge B-52 bomber, one of only two found outside the US. There are aircraft displays including the wreckage of a Japanese Zero fighter plane, a remnant from Darwin's attack in 19...

Hi mate

Do you have any pics or parts to help? The surviving parts may still have their identifying numbers that were unique to each aircraft type.

Of all the people to lead the recovery, I am glad it was Rob Greinert. From what I have seen over the years, he knows the rules, he respects the locals and he respects the heritage. Can't do any better than that.

Saw the trailer on the website yesterday (google "kokoda the movie"). It looks right and will be in your face so I'd say they definitely don't sugar coat it which will hopefully teach a few people who don't know just what the guys went through. It opens here on April 20 (just before ANZAC Day), I've...

I have absolutely no idea whether CILHI could help with photos but maybe you could ask them?
