What happened to the "Ballale Val'?

Wondering if anyone knows what ever happened to the Ballale Val, the intact Val that is featured on the Pacific Ghosts DVD. I recall reading that it was recovered, but by whom and is it under restoration?

Maxwell,

Your English is alot better than my French, lol. The best I can do is have my wife (who has a French maiden name..PHLIPOT) coach me from her high school and college French classes. I have to do that when someone from France contacts me about something I'm selling on Ebay..I do my best.

I had a '69 SuperBee, 440 automatic....really miss it.

BTW, I have that "Wreaking Havoc" book too..I actually called Mr. Rutter and talked to him for a bit..he's sort of local, lives (I hope he's still around) in Ohio. Really nice guy, he signed my copy of the book.

The father that died in the service of his country....God knows what was going through his mind when he knew he ...

The Letters From Iwo Jima movie isn't being shown anywhere around where I live..odd, since Flags was shown and had excellent attendance. Guess I'll wait for the DVD.

No U.S. release, even on DVD

Apparently, the distributors of this movie don't feel there is enough interest in the U.S. to bother making the DVD available here. I wonder, if the producers thought about, ot tried to get Mel Gibson involved in it somehow..his name would have generated interest, and even if the movie itself is sub...

It came from Canada..Canadian Warplane Heritage, or something like that. They also brought the Spitfire. That 109 I took pictures of, that one was recovered from Russia, the pilot showed me pictures of the wreck.

We're all Pacific War history buffs here, and, contrary to what a previous poster said about me, I am well aware of the war in Papua New Guinea, probably much more aware of it than most Americans who have an interest in WW2. Since we are all on the same wavelength in that regard, it is mystifying th...
