My uncle, Lt. Charles E. Konkle was a Bombardier in the 13th AAF, 5th Bomb Group, 72nd Bomb Squadron. His B-24 was shot down 10/10/1943 during a mission to Bougainville. The aircraft and crew were lost and never located. I am honored to be named after my uncle and live in Lee's Summit, Missouri, USA...
