Wartime History
Following the May 27, 1944 U.S. Army amphibious landing on Biak, the U.S. Army established a cemetery at this location known as "USAAF Cemetery Bosnek #1" or "USAAF Cemetery Bosnek No. 1". American dead were buried at this location during the war.
