Haleiwa Field was located on Oahu in Hawaii in the United States.
Built prewar as a small secondary airstrip. Also listed as 'Haleiwa Emergency Airstrip'.
On December 7, 1941 during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor unarmed B-1E 41-2429 landed at Haleiwa in an attempt to escape the attack. While being armed and refueled, A6M2 Zeros strafed the airfield.
Warhawks got airborne,
intercepted and shot down several Japanese aircraft. Pilots Ken Taylor
and George Welch drove from Wheeler Field to Haleiwa and took off each claiming four planes shot down.
