Built during 1943, known as Mile 26 Satellite Field. Named to honor polar pilot Carl Ben Eielson.

Still in use today as Eielson Air Force Base (Eielson AFB) as a military airport. Airport codes: FAA: EIL / ICAO: PAEI / IATA: EIL.
