    Fighter 3 (Emergency Field) Guadalcanal Solomon Islands

Fighter 3 was located near the north coast of Guadalcanal to the east of the Ilu River, south of Tenaru.
Also known as the "Emergency Field" or "Fighter No. 3".

Built by American forces after the Battle of the Tenaru in late August 1942. Fighter 3 was a single runway 5,000' x 150'.

Wartime History
By January 1945, this runway was only used as an emergency field.

Disused since the war. Today, St. Josephs Church at Tenaru is located near the former runway.
