Location
Lat 7° 57' 49S Long 145° 46' 17E Kerema Airport is located at an elevation of 11' above sea level at the western edge of Kerema on the southern coast of New Guinea. To the south is the Gulf of Papua. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of Papua. Today located in Gulf Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Construction
Kerema Airport was built postwar by the Australian administration.
Today
Kerema Airport is still in use today as a small airport with domestic service by PNG Air. The single runway is oriented 32/14 measures 3,044' x 60' (944m x 18m) surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: ICAO: AYKM, IATA: KMA.
