Lat 5° 49' 58S Long 145° 5' 50E Keglsugl Airfield is located to the west of Keglsugl in the Chimbu Valley in Chimbu Province (Simbu) in Papua New Guinea at an elevation of 8,400' / 2,600m.
Built prewar to support the Dengagu Catholic Mission.
On February 2, 1939 Klemm L25-D11 "St. Paulus" VH-UUR piloted by Willy Schafhausen took off from Alexishafen Airfield on a flight via Mondia Pass into the Chimbu Valley before making the first landing at Keglsugl Airfield.
