Location
Located at Buka Passage off the southern end of Buka Island, Sohano Island and Bonis on the northern tip of Bougainville Island.

World War II Pacific Theatre History
Occupied by the Japanese on March 9, 1942. Used as a base area and repair facility, and the channel a seaplane landing area, with moorings around Sohano Island.

American missions against Buka Passage
November 16, 1943 - June 10, 1944

Today
Disused since the war. There is no trace of this facility.  A peir that small boats use to this day might be associated with this former base.
