The map includes the southern tip of Cebu Island and Bohol Island, Bohol Strait, Tañon Strait, Negros Island including Negros Oriental Province and Siquijor Island. The black dotted line is the advance of the U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division (40th ID) along the eastern coast of Negros Island. The solid black arrow indicates the April 26, 1945 landing of the U.S. Army Americal Division, 164th Regimental Combat Team (164th RCT) at Sibulan and advance southward to Dumaguete and southwest into the hills with Japanese troop concentrations.
