American missions against Buayan (Boayan) and Buayan Airfield

September 6, 1944
(FEAF) Twelve B-25s from the 345th BG, 500th BS, 499th BS took off from Middleburg Airfield, escorting was a squadron of P-38s. One B-25 aborted the mission due to fuel transfer problems. The 500th BS attacked a motor pool nearby and the 499th attacked Buayan Airfield, dropping 54 parademo bombs, leaving two hangers burning. Anti-aircraft fire was at first weak and strengthened during the raid, damaging B-25 "Lady Ruth". Afterwards, the 499th joined attacking the motor pool and then departed.
