Marpi Point Airfield was located
the northern end of the Saipan Island in the Southern Islands Municipality of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in the United States of America (USA). To the north is Marpi Point (Cape Toro), to the south is Mount Marpi (Mt. Marpi) and to the southwest is Banadera.
Built by the
Japanese as a fighter airfield with a single runway measuring 3,850' x 180'. Later, measured to be 4,380' in
Occuped by American forces and repaired at the end of the world. Non-operational in December 1944.

VMF 512 (F4U) October - December 1945 to San Diego
The former airfield is abandoned and overgrown.
Japanese Memorial Services
Japanese relatives have burn the skeletal remains of Japanese
war dead at this location in the 1980's and 1990's.
