American missions against Sandakan and Sandakan Airfield

October 24, 1944
(FEAF) B-24s, B-25s, and fighter-bombers hit the Sandakan area

October 30, 1944
(FEAF) 36th FS P-38s from Morotai hit Sandakan Airfield. Just after leaving the Airfield someone in the Squadron spotted a Jap ship in the harbor between Berhala Rock and the Town and the squadron attacked the ship and Capt. Ken Giroux's gunfire detonated High Explosive's on the ship's deck and it was sunk. The round trip for the 36th FS P-38's from Morotai to Sandakan and back to Morotai was 1,500 miles.

April 13, 1945
(FEAF) Nine P-38s from the 67th Fighter Squadron strafe an area approximately two miles southeast of Sandakan Airfield runway no. 2 and the road leading towards Sandakan two military trucks were strafed and destroyed. On the road approximately 1 and 3/4 miles from the runway three military cars were strafed with one damaged. Lost was P-38L 44-24519 (MIA).

(FEAAF) B-24s returning from a French Indochina coastal sweep bomb Sandakan.

(USN, RAAF) Nine PT Boats, including PT-130 enter Sandakan Harbor, escorted by RAAF P-40s and PBM Mariners, strafing and firing their torpedoes at targets.

May 29, 1945
(USN) PT-130 and PT-144 returned to the same location and made another attack.

June 2, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s hit Sandakan

July 19, 1945
(FEAF) P-38s hit a suicide boat hideout at Sandakan.
