Location Moshinawa Airfield was located at Moshinawa (Machinato) inland from the western coast of Okinawa Island in Okinawa Prefecture in southern Japan. Located four miles north of Naha. Known to the Americans as Machinato Airifled. Also spelled Makinato, Matinato or Nachinato. Construction Built by the Japanese as a single runway measuring 6,500' x 100' parallel to the west coast. Wartime History Moshinawa Airfield was used by the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) during late July 1945 until the end of the Pacific War.
