Location Lat 5° 4' 0" Long 119° 32' 0" Mandai Airfield is located near Makassar on Celebes Island. Also known as "Makassar Airfield" or "Makassar I Airfield". Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in South Sulawesi Province on Sulawesi (Celebes) in Indonesia. Wartime History During 1942 occupied by the Japanese and used as a military airfield until the end of the Pacific War.
