Lhoknga Airfield is located at Lhoknga in Ache Province on the northwestern tip of Sumatra Island. Also known as Lho'nga or Lho'gna.
Built prewar by the Dutch.
Used by the U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as an emergency airfield. On January 15, 1942 five B-17s landed at Lhoknga Airfield returning from a mission against against Sungei Patani Airfield in Malaysia. After being refueled and repaired, they returned to Malang Airfield on Java.
