Lat 3° 20' 53S Long 128° 55' 34E  Amahai Airfield is located on Amahai Island, to the south of Seram (Ceram). Also known as "Amahai Drome".

Charles Lindbergh's 'Kill'
On July 28. 1944 near Amahai Charles Lindbergh was flying as an 'observer' with the 475th FG, 433rd FS "Satan's Angles" and shot down a Ki-51 Sonia from the 73rd Independent Chutai piloted by Capt. Shimada Kenji (C. O. of 73rd) during a head on pass.

This airfield is still in use today as Amahai Airport. Airport codes: ICAO: WAPA, IATA: AHI.
