Location Chabua Airfield was located at Chabua in Himachal Pradesh State in India. Wartime History Used by the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as a military airfield. During late 1942 until early 1943 attacked by Japanese aircraft. On October 25, 1942 Chabua Airfield was first targeted by Japanese bombers and fighters. On February 23, 1943 another Japanese air raid of 46 bombers and fighters was intercepted over the airfield by P-40s. In a running battle, the P-40s claim at least 14 aircraft shot down.
