Lat 22°20'0" Long 114°12'0" Kaitak Airfield is located on the mainland of China near Hong Kong. Wartime spellings include "Kai Tak" or "Kai Tek".

Built by the British prewar.

Wartime History
On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War Japanese aircraft attacked the Royal Air Force (RAF) contingent based at Kai Tak Airfield destroying all available British aircraft. Occupied by the Japanese during December 1941 until the end of the Pacific War.

Between late Janauary 1944 until late March 1945 attacked by Allied fighters and bombers.

American missions against Kai Tek Airfield
January 23, 1944 - March 29, 1945

On December 22, 1944, P-51s and P-40s claimed Zeros shot down over Kai Tek Airfield.
