Kaitak Airfield is located on the mainland of China near Hong Kong. Wartime spellings include "Kai Tak" or "Kai Tek".
Built by the British prewar.
On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War Japanese aircraft attacked the Royal Air Force (RAF) contingent based at Kai Tak Airfield destroying all available British aircraft. Occupied by the Japanese during December 1941 until the end of the Pacific War.
