Construction
Built during the late 1950s. The airport was officially opened on March 2, 1958.

Today
Beijing Capital International Airport is the main hub for Air China. Airport code: PEK. During 2008, Terminal 3 was constructed prior to the Olymic Games, and was the second largest airport terminal in the world and the fifth largest building in the world by area. By 2010, Beijing Airport was the 8th busiest airport in the world.
