American missions against Mingaladon and Mingaladon Airfield
May 5, 1942–October 18, 1944

May 5, 1942
(10th AF) On a raid against Mingaladon Airfield during the night of 4/5 May, 4 B-17's bomb a hangar and parked aircraft; the crews claim 40 aircraft destroyed but searchlights make accurate observation impossible.

May 6, 1942
(10th AF) For the second consecutive night, B-17s bomb Mingaladon Airfield with three B-17's claiming direct hits on fuel dumps at the field.

May 9, 1942
(10th AF) During the night of 8/9 May, six B-17's bomb Mingaladon.

February 8, 1943
(10th AF) Three B-24s bomb the runway at Mingaladon Airfield.

February 22, 1943
(10th AF, RAF) B-24s and RAF Liberators fly a diversionary strike against Mingaladon Airfield.

March 10, 1943
(10th AF) Four B-24s hit the runways, buildings. and revetments at Mingaladon Airfield.

March 26, 1943
(10th AF) Six others fly a diversion raid, scoring hits on Mingaladon Airfield.

November 25, 1943
(10th AF) B-25's, covered by P-51's, manage to hit Mingaladon Airfield, damaging the field and claiming two airplanes destroyed. Japanese fighters intercept and in the ensuing battle the B-25's and P-51's claim 2 shot down; 2 P-51's are lost.

February 1, 1944
(10th AF) Six B-24s bomb Mingaladon Airfield.

October 18, 1944
(10th AF) 13 P-47s attack Mingaladon Airfield.
