Wartime History During World War II, Mildura Airfield was used by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Based 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU) that operated Spitfires, Kittyhawks, Boomerangs and Mustangs. Today Still in use today as Mildura Airport as a civilian airport with two runways. The first is oriented 27/09 measures 6,004' x 148' surfaced with asphalt. The second is oriented 36/18 measures 3737' x 98' surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: ICAO: YMIA IATA: MQL.
