RAAF November 1939

Lat 37° 51' 49S Long 144° 44' 46E  Laverton Field is located in the suburb of Laverton southwest of Melbourne. Also known as RAAF Station Laverton and RAAF Base Laverton or Laverton Airfield. Today, part of RAAF Base Williams known as RAAF Williams, Laverton Base.

Built prewar by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as an air depot and repair facility.

Wartime History
Used by Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as a training and maintenance base known as the Laverton Repair Depot. During the early stages of the Pacific War, used by the U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) B-17 Flying Fortress bombers.

Laverton is no longer used for operational flying. For administrative purposes it was merged with the RAAF Base Point Cook (Point Cook Airfield) as RAAF Base Williams. Today, known as RAAF Williams, Laverton Base. Airport Code: ICAO: YLVT.

In 2008 the base became part of the new suburb of Williams Landing.
