Aircraft History
Built by Grumman. Assigned to the US Navy (USN) aboard USS Saratoga (CV-3) to squadron VT-12. No known nickname, nose art or squadron number.

Mission History
Took off from USS Saratoga, on a strike against Buka Airfield. Crashed overboard on take off, two of the crew were rescued and one was killed in the crash.

Memorials
Cooper was officially declared dead the day of the mission. Memorialized on the tablets of the missing on Manila American Cemetery.
