Background
The Vought SB2U Vindicator was a carrier based dive bomber developed for the U.S. Navy (USN) in the 1930s, as the first monoplane in this role. By the start of the Pacific War, obsolete but remained in service durng the Battle of Midway, By 1943 all remaining Vindicators were withfrawn withdrawn to training units.
