Built by Douglas. Constructors Number 13855. Assigned U. S. Army Air Force serial number 43-30704. Assigned to the US Navy on May 9, 1942. Assigned to the USMC, to .S. Marine Transport Squadron 153 (VMR-153).

Mission History
On October 7, 1944 took off with 19 aboard. This aircraft crashed on a mountain top on Vella Lavella.

Memorials
The entire crew was officially declared dead the day of the crash. After the recovery of remains, Walker was buried at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri.
