Built by Lockheed in Burbank, CA. Constructor Number 6340. Delivered to the U. S. Navy (USN) as PV-1 Ventura bureau number 49524. Disassembled and shipped to Oahu and reassembled ans transported to New Zealand as part of lend-lease.
On on May 24, 1944 assigned to the to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) as Ventura NZ4632 and reassembled by Unit 45 at Hamilton Airfield. Next, assigned to 2 Squadron operating from Nissan Airfield (Green Island) during early 1945.
On July 14, 1945 during take off from Jacquinot
Bay Airfield this Ventura swung around and ground looped, causing severe damage. Afterwards, assigned to 10 Servicing Unit written off an abandoned.
