Aircraft History
Built by Lockheed in Burbank, CA. Constructor number 6340. Assigned U. S. Navy (USN) as bureau number 49524. Shipped disassembled to Hawaii. Reassembled on Oahu then transported to New Zealand.

Wartime History
On on May 24, 1944 assigned to the to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) as Ventura NZ4632 and reassembled by Unit 45 at Hamilton Airfield. Next, assigned to 2 Squadron operating from Nissan Airfield (Green Island) during early 1945.

Mission History
On July 14, 1945 during take off from Jacquinot Bay Airfield, this aircraft swung around and ground looped, causing severe damage. Afterwards, the wreckage was assigned to 10 Servicing Unit and abandoned.

Wreckage
The remains of this aircraft are in situ at Jacquinot Bay Airfield.
