Built by Lockheed at Burbank, CA. Model 237-27-01. Constructors Number 6371. Delivered to the U. S. Navy (USN) as PV-1 Ventura bureau number 49555. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia as part of lend-lease.

Wartime History
On June 1, 1944 assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Ventura serial number A59-96. No known nickname or nose art.

Display
Previously, this aircraft was displayed at Chewing Gum Field Aircraft Museum. During 2001, displayed at the Queensland Air Museum and displayed outdoors.
