Built by the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation as PBY-6A with Constructor's Number 2008. Assigned US Navy Bureau Number (Bu No) 46644.
To the US civil register as N6458C, then to Canada as C-GFFH. To Spain as EC-359, then re-registered as EC-EVK. Used as a water bomber.
The aircraft was listed on the Australian civil register as VH-EAX and flown to Australia via Bahrain. Qantas had previously operated ex-RAAF PB2B-2 Catalina A24-378 as VH-EAX.
On display at the Qantas Founders Museum at Longreach, Queensland.
