Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in San Diego. Constructors Number 1959. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PBY-5A Catalina bureau number 46595.

Postwar, sold as surplus to an unknown owner and registered in the United States as N9501C. During 1963, acquired by Panair in Brazil and registered as PT-AXM.

In 1968, acquired by the Força Aérea Brasileira (Brazilian Air Force) as C-10A serial number 6651. This Catalina operated in a variety of roles in the Amazon Basin until 1981. During 1982 placed into outdoor storage at in Belem, Brazil.

On December 22, 1983 acquired by David C. Tallichet / Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation (MARC) and registered as N4583B. During March 1984 flown from Brazil to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Display
In July 1984 flown to the National Museum of the United States Air Force (USAF Museum) and restored as OA-10A "Snafu Snatchers" 44-33879 assigned to the 2nd Emergency Rescue Squadron (2nd ERS) in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA). On the left side of the nose was the nickname "Snafu Snatchers" and nose art of an airmen in a life raft. On the right side of the fuselage is a large black rectangle with a scoreboard of missions flown and rescues. Since 1984, displayed at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (USAF Museum) as part of the World War II aircraft collection.
