Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated. Assigned to the United States Navy (USN) to squadron VP-43. No known nickname, nose art or squadron number.

Mission History
Took off Cold Bay on a flight via Sand Point to Kodiak. This aircraft was last seen after take off. When it failed to arrive, the entire crew was reported as missing in action.

Search
Afterwards, the Navy searched the area for three days but found no debris, oil slick or trace of the crew.

Memorials
The entire crew was officially declared dead the day of the mission. All are memorialized at the courts of the missing at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl).
