Built by Northrop in Hawthorne, California. Completed July 30, 1944. Delivered to the U.S. Army on August 2, 1944. Disassembled and loaded as cargo aboard a transport that departed September 15, 1944. Unloaded at Pearl Harbor and reassembled at Hickam Field.
Wartime History
Assigned to the 7th Air Force, 7th Fighter Wing, 548th Night Fighter
Squadron based at Hickam Field and later Kipapa Field. Assigned to pilot Captain Bill Dames, radio operator D'Andrea and
gunner Sgt Robert C. Ryder. Nicknamed "Bat Outa Hell". On August 6, 1946 stricken from charge. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
