Aircraft History Built by Republic at the Indiana Division of Republic Aviation in Evansville, IN. Constructors Number 399-55997. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D-40-RA Thunderbolt serial number 45-49458. Postwar Transfered to the Fuerza Aérea del Perú (FAP) Peruvian Air Force as serial number 451. During 1972, loaned this plane back to the United States Air Force (USAF). Display In 1987 transported to the New England Air Museum (Bradley Air Museum). This plane was static restored and painted in the markings of P-47D "Norma" 420344. References USAF Serial Number Search Results - P-47D-40-RA Thunderbolt 45-49458 "49458 (MSN 399-55997) to Peru. Given to USAF Museum by Peru Government in 1972. In 1987 was at New England Air Museum, Windsor Locks, CT. Noted May 2006 on display at New England Air Museum painted as 45-20344."
