Built by Republic at the Indiana Division of Republic Aviation in Evansville, IN. Constructors Number 399-55997. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D-40-RA Thunderbolt serial number 45-49458.

Postwar
Transfered to the Fuerza Aérea del Perú (FAP) Peruvian Air Force as serial number 451. During 1972, loaned this plane back to the United States Air Force (USAF).

Display
In 1987 transported to the New England Air Museum (Bradley Air Museum). This plane was static restored and painted in the markings of P-47D "Norma" 420344.
