Aircraft History
Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Delivered to the U. S. Army. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled.

Aircraft History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 49th Fighter Group, 7th Fighter Squadron. Squadron Number 21 painted in white on both the nose and tail. Nicknamed "Vera" in cursive on the right side of the engine cowling. On the right side of the fuselage forward of the U. S. star was painted Varga girl style female figure.

During 1943, this P-40 operated from 17 Mile Drome (Durand) near Port Moresby and later Dobodura Airfield / Horanda 4Y.

Mission History
On June 1, 1943 took off piloted by Griffith. This P-40 force landed wheels up at Dobodura Airfield / Horanda 4Y. Afterwards, this P-40 was likely written off. Ultimate fate unknown likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
