1st Lt. James J. Bevlock in the cockpit of an Airacobra at 7 Mile Drome near Port Moresby
Previously, on April 30, 1942 force landed P-39F Airacobra 41-7186 near Iokea on the south coast of New Guinea and returned to duty. Later, on September 10, 1942 Bevlock went missing piloting DH.82A Tiger Moth that crashed into Halifax Bay near Townsville.
