Built by Bell in Buffalo, New York. Delivered to the U.S. Army. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 35th Fighter Group, 41st Fighter Squadron. No known nickname or nose art. No known nose number. Squadron number "71". Fuselage code "B". The tip of the tail and spinner were painted yellow.

This aircraft operated from 7 Mile Drome (Jackson) near Port Moresby and flew combat missions over New Guinea. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
