Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-38H-5-LO Lightning serial number 42-66840. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 475th Fighter Group, 431st Fighter Squadron. Nose Number 121. Nicknamed "Little Grace". Assigned to pilot William C. Gronemeyer who was later MIA / KIA piloting P-38H 42-66562. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
