Letter describing the loss of P-38H "Porky II" 42-66506
1. Furaunt to instructions contained in Fifth Air Force regulation no. 35-45 dated 26 November 1943, the following report is hereby submitted and Major Edward Cragg, O-421769, and airplane type P-38H-1-LO No. 42-66506.

2. A P-38 was seen to crash on the western shore of Borgen Bay, observed by Lt. Burnell W. Adams as going into a spin after combat with enemy fighters. Airplane went straight in and exploded on contact with ground. Major Cragg is the only pilot missing from this mission.

3. Any additional information which became available will be forwarded by letter.
